International Student Organization (ISO)

The International Student Organization was formed in 1995. It comprises of international students from different parts of the world. Since then it has been actively working to promote global diversity within the in the university. The organization is headed by Ceshia Love who is currently the Assistant Director of Undergraduate and International Students Affairs at Texas Southern University . There are also officers who chair weekly meetings and look after the day to day work of the organization.

Objectives and Purpose of the Organization
“Unity is strength”. The organization brings together people from different backgrounds under one roof at the university. The purpose of this organization shall be to provide a platform for social interaction among international students and help new international students adapt themselves to the Texas Southern community. There is no discrimination on the basis of race, sex, age, color, religion, disability, or national origin.

 
Our main goals are:
- To bring cultural awareness on campus and show cultural diversity.
- There shall be no member who is not currently enrolled as a student at the Texas Southern University.
- To ensure the transition for international students from the home country to the U.S. is comfortable and smooth.
- To provide encouragement and support to all international students
- To provide programs showing the cultural differences and similarities on campus.
