Fact Book As we rapidly move into the new millennium, information becomes even more vital to our success as an academic community. We are in constant need of information related to enrollment, academic programs, faculty, and budget resources as we go about our daily activities. The 2001 edition of the Texas Southern University Institutional Profile seeks to assist the University in this regard. The Profile provides an easy reference for the University community in need of data for such activities as planning, program reviews, proposal writing, and other general knowledge about the institution. This information has been provided over a five-year period and begins with the fall of 1996.
The information presented here was collected and organized by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. This office serves as the clearinghouse for official University statistics and seeks to not only promote consistency in reporting, but to also enhance the provision of timely and accurate information. Accordingly, all information provided was collected from official University files, with the primary data source being the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board CBM reports. These reports are submitted by the University for funding and monitoring purposes and therefore represent official institutional statistics used for reporting to federal, state, and local agencies.
