How do students apply?
Eligible students (those with at least 120 hours and who intend to take the Texas CPA examination) should contact their college financial aid officers and inform them of their desire to apply for the funds.
Why apply?
Students taking the Texas CPA examination after May 1998 must have completed 150 semester hours of college credit. Students needing financial assistance to meet this education requirement should consider applying to this program. *
* Students attending four year colleges are eligible to apply for the scholarship program as long as they are still enrolled and are in the process of completing the educational requirements needed in order to stand for the CPA and plan on taking the examination in the State of Texas.
Funding for this scholarship program is provided by a portion of the fees paid by Texas Certified Public Accountants as they renew their licenses.
Junior/Community College students interested in applying for this award should check with their school of choice.
Source/Allocation of Funds
Funds are generated through additional fees paid by Texas CPAs when they renew their licenses.
