Students who have attended another College or University prior to seeking admission to Texas Southern University are transfer students. Visit tccns.org to look up Texas course equivalencies for transferable coursework.

What to Submit

Completed admission application (Parts A, B, and C).

Submit an Official Transcript from each college or university attended. Transcript may be sent directly from the issuing institution(s) OR hand-carried in a sealed official envelope of the issuing institution(s).

Official transcripts submitted for consideration and evaluation MUST contain the following:

	-	Grades for all courses appearing on transcript(s) - It will be the student's responsibility to bring in subsequent transcripts for those "Courses In-Progress".
	-	University Registrar's Seal and Signature
	-	Transcript issued date

Students transferring into TSU must meet the following criteria depending on the number of hours completed at other institutions:

Applicants who have completed less than 15 semester hours of college-level credit must satisfy the university’s admission standards.

General Admissions Standards:

	-	SAT 820 (Composite of Math and Reading)
	-	ACT 17
	-	2.0 GPA

Applicants who have completed 15 or more semester hours of college credit must have a 2.0 or higher cumulative grade point average for hours completed at all other colleges attended by the applicant.

Admissions will be granted to applicants who have earned an associate of science or associate of art degree from the last school attended as long as the school is a U. S. regionally accredited school. Official transcripts must be received from all previously attended institutions.

A student on academic probation or suspension from another institution who is not in good academic standing will not be eligible for admission to TSU until one year after the probation or suspension from the other institution.

Transcript evaluations will be done when all of the required documentation has been received. Please allow 7 to 10 business days from the date the last item is received for the completion of your evaluation. During peak times the evaluation process may take longer than the standard 7 to 10 business days. Required documentation should consist of the following:

	-	Application
	-	Application Fee
	-	Transcript from each college attended

Placement Test scores/status.

Application fee (non-refundable):

	-	$42.00 (U.S. Citizens)
	-	$78.00 (International)

Note:

-	Transient students can only apply for the summer terms.
-	No more than sixty-six (66) credit hours from junior and community colleges may be transferred to Texas Southern University.
-	Students who are Permanent Residents of the United States must supply certified copies of both front and back sides of their Permanent Resident Card along with the admission application.
