Freshman Admissions and Requirements

Students applying to Texas Southern University who have completed all high school requirements for graduation(including passing TAAS/TAKS exemptions do not qualify Texas Residents Only) and have not attended a college/University since graduating high school.

Requirements

1. Completed Application for admission
2. $42.00 application fee (non-refundable).

No application will be processed without the required application fee.

3. Official high school transcript showing date of graduation, or GED Test Report
4. Grade point average of 2.00 on a 4.00
5. Official SAT or ACT test scores
6. 17 (ACT composite) or 820 (SAT english & math)
7. Complete placement testing upon admission.

Undocumented High School Students Must Have:

1. Graduated from a public or private high school or received a high school diploma or GED in the State of Texas.
2. Resided in this state for at least three consecutive years before the date of graduation from high school or before receiving the equivalent of the high school diploma (GED).
3. Sign an Affidavit of Intent (Form also available at Texas Southern University) stating that the individual will file an application to become a permanent resident at the earliest opportunity the individual is eligible to do so.
